Disney Unveils Additions to Castaway Cay

Disney will soon be doubling its fleet with bigger ships.  This means more passengers on the shores of the 1000 acre Castaway Cay.

On tap for Castaway cay:

  • Expanded Family Beach
  • More Water Based Recreation
  • More Dining Options
  • 20 Private Cabanas

The family beach will be extened from 1000 feet to 1700 feet by relocating the stingray experience and the teen getaway area.  The majority of the private cabanas will face the family beach.  Some cabanas will be at Serenity Bay (the adults-only beach).

New watersport features will included:

  • Pelican Plunge (two corkscrew slides)
  • Spring-a-Leak (fountains and water jets for play)
  • 200-Square-Foot Wet Deck (added to Scuttle's Cove Children's Area)
Disney Sails Alaska in 2011!

Disney Cruise Line has announced that the Disney Wonder will use Vancouver as a home port for 18 Alaska cruises in 2011.

 

Between May 3 and Aug. 30, 2011, the cruise ship Disney Wonder will make 18 seven-night sailings from Vancouver, visiting Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.

Romance, adventure and the inimitable Disney style come together on the exciting 7-Night Alaska Cruise. It's a trip that you and your family will always remember and cherish, with its unparalleled sight-seeing and newfound discoveries, both on and off the cruise ship.
